Oprah has her list of favorite things each year, and I have mine…
I am a practical gal and try hard to only spend money on things I will truly use. That’s why I pulled my 2014 most favorite things straight from the rooms of my home. In fact my most favorite list should really be titled my most practical list. See what you think.
1. Kate Spade Paper Party Coasters
I’m lovin’ this find from earlier in the year! They make any party more colorful and fun. Here’s my George Fizz drink on this bold coaster. Such a happy look.
2. Madewell Transport Tote
My most favorite bag ever! My friend Angela had this bag at dinner exactly a year ago, but I didn’t fully appreciate it until I went into the Madewell store about 5 months later. This bag is so multi-functional. I mostly use it for work, but it’s also perfect as my mom bag, and spacious enough for weekend essentials. I can’t resist a good monogram, and I think the gold personalization option adds the perfect touch.
3. Tory Burch Double-Wrap Leather Bracelet (similar here)
My sweet girlfriends gave me this bracelet for my birthday this year, and I wear it all the time. It goes with everything, and the wrap look is my favorite.
4. Tom Ford Lip Color Matte
This lipstick stays on longer than any I’ve ever worn, and the reviews back that up. I like the matte finish, and velvet cherry is a great color. This is definitely worth the price because the applications are minimal.
5. Moleskine Notebook
I adore my Moleskine, and I’m sure the vibrant color gives me more creativity! The size is perfect because I can easily carry it around in my bag. It gives a professional look to note taking, don’t you think?
6. Restoration Hardware Faux Fur Throw
Say it with me, we LOVE faux fur! We found this on sale early this year. Who knew how stylish fur would become. We just liked the weight and texture. Good spot during that sale, and I’m cozied up using it again in my favorite chair.
7. Daring Greatly, by Brene Brown
If you haven’t heard of Brene, go now and check her out! My friend Dawn told me about this book early in the year, and now I’ve become obsessed with her research and TED Talks. She is hilariously authentic, and I think every person on the planet can relate to her story. She challenges our culture of never enough and discusses the power of feeling worthy. Clearly I’ll never critique books for a living, but just trust me on this one…it’s worth the 20 minute TED Talk at least!
If you saw my post earlier this year, Soapy Secrets & Dirty Laundry, you know I think this is the miracle cleaner. Life changing in the laundry room!
9. L.K. Bennett Patent Leather Point Toe (similar here)
A good work shoe is one place I’m willing to make an investment. For two reasons. One, as it turns out our feet are pretty important to the overall well-being of our bodies. And two, I wear these at least twice a week. This British brand originated in London, and I think they are super classy.
And there it is! My Favorite Things List for 2014. Surely it’s more practical than Oprah’s.
What’s on your list of great deals and great finds? I hope your year is finishing up just as you had hoped, and you are reenergizing for the new year ahead. I know that’s what I’m doing.
Prosperity and blessings to you!
